Human Mattress Domino World Record Broken In China (VIDEO)

The world record for human mattress dominoes has fallen for the second time in 2012.

Guinness World Records announced that 1,001 volunteers in China lined up for the rally, eclipsing the previous record of 850 set in New Orleans earlier this year.

Organized by the Shanghai-based mattress company Bellarest International, the attempt was held in an empty section of a shopping mall in that city, and took 11 minutes and 11 seconds to complete.

"For an event like this involving 1,000 people to succeed first time is not just about luck," said Guinness World Records adjudicator Dong Cheng, who witnessed the attempt.

The previous record was organized by the hotel chain La Quinta, who wrangled 850 employees to participate in the stunt, according to CBS News.
